Following Your Passion

Image

“If you wait to do everything until you’re sure it’s right, you’ll probably never do much of anything.” – Win Borden

-This is so true. How many times have you not done something because you feel it wasn’t the right timing? Or you were afraid you wouldn’t be good at it so you never tried at all?

“Courage is the power to let go of the familiar.” – Raymond Lindquist

-When we have courage, we can accomplish anything. We need to let go of things we feel we are supposed to do in order to discover exactly what we were born to do…

I’m starting this post off with two quotes that moved me this morning. I realize I am going to school to do web marketing…. and I don’t feel passion. I feel that everything with web marketing can be learned by trial and error. For instance, I started this blog…but maybe someday I will design a website that can help further my viewers. I have many friends and family that can help me with that when I’m ready.

Yesterday I went to my job till 3 then rushed home to a Zumba class I wanted to get to. I then finished that and drove 40 minutes south to another gym because I heard from a friend that the Zumba instructor was great. After two hours, and turning into one sweaty mess, I realize fitness is my passion…why am I not working towards teaching something I’m so passionate about? I don’t want to teach Zumba, but I’ve wanted to teach kickboxing and weigh classes before.

Either way I’ve come to the urge to leave my current field of study and throw myself into certification workshops, and studying mainly on fitness and working towards personal training or even MORE. I want MORE. I know that they say that if you have a passion, you should follow it. Passion is what keeps you loving your career and thriving happily and financially.

I don’t have a clue about what to do from here. Do any of you following my blog do this for a living? I might need help. I want to do well but don’t know where to start. So far I have been researching workshops for certification in my area but I want to make sure I’m doing it the right way. I feel this will make me happy, as well as continuing to be active and motivating others.

  1. I am right there with ya! I actually got a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science and have yet to put it to good use. Instead I sit behind a desk all day. I want nothing more than to encourage and teach others to live a happy, healthy life, and this has been the case for as long as I can remember. I too am looking into training programs, but have been to afraid to take the leap. Best of luck to you. And here’s to conquering fears!!

    • i imagine that would be hard to go through all that school and want to be “hands on” in motivating others but having to sit at a desk all day! i’m glad your going to start doing training programs! that is great news i can’t wait to start either!

  2. You should reach out to my friend.. she just made a simular realization at the beginning of the year and is transitioning into a fitness training career. She’s also very involved with Beachbody. You can connect with her here: https://www.facebook.com/jillian.roberson#!/healthy.happy.fitwithcallie

    • you are a sweetheart! just went to her page. i love it.

      • I’m glad! Message her and she might have some tips for you :)

  3. Hey Tiare, I’m a Team Beachbody Coach, helping people to get fit … To get healthy … to transform their lives. There is amazing support for Beachbody coaches and the people who desire to change their destination. It is amazing to be part of the Beachbody team and see lives changed. Email me if you would like to hear more. From the blogs I have read of your’s, you would be an absolutely awesome coach!

    • emailed you just now:)

    • It’s worth noting that Beachbody leadership just announced this morning at the Coach Summit in Las Vegas that starting on 25 Jun and running until 31 Jul, that P90X, Turbo Fire, and Brazil Butt Lift Challenge Packs are free for the first 30 days. They’ve never done anything like this before. Basically for the cost of shipping, you get to try one of these fitness programs plus Shakeology for free … and then decide after 30 days whether you think its worth it.

  4. Good luck with your goals and go kick some ass. Do what you enjoy, I guess you realized that already :) Keep up the good stuff, I’ll keep up with the blog via rss.

    • thank you so much:) i will keep working towards my goals!

  5. You are so brave and I know you can accomplish whatever you set out ot do. Good Luck!

  6. Good luck! Ill be right there behind ya!

  7. Tiare:

Just remember, you can’t swing a dead cat without hitting a pronounced fitness expert. Many folks want to make their living doing personal training and be the next Jillian Michaels.

But just as with acting, singing, dancing and sports superstars, not every talented person will reach the top.

Just keep a grip on the reality of the big picture.

  8. I’m in the same spot! I just graduated with a degree that I have zero passion for. My true passion is in health and fitness, I just don’t know where to go from there. Good luck! If you find out about certifications and what not you should let me know :)

  9. follow your heart!
