I have been slacking. I haven’t had any control lately over anything and I’ve been losing muscle and gaining weight. Thankfully my body gets back into shape quickly but I do need to start watching my diet and start eating a cleaner palette and not relying on protein bars to get me through my days. I need to remember my fitness goals and what i have accomplished so far…
I need to meditate.
I need to get back into yoga.
I need to remind myself that having a bad day does not mean I am having a bad life.
I need to find inner peace and immerse myself into a completely healthy lifestyle.
I need to keep working on my list of goals.
I need to avoid toxic people that bring me back to who I used to be.
I need to LOVE more.
With 4th of July weekend behind all of us, we can look back and forget about it. Most of us use holidays as “cheat-days” but remember that tomorrow is Monday. The beginning of a new week, and a fresh start to take on our fitness goals! I suggest writing down what you eat. Keep a food log or at least plan your meals ahead of time so you can control what you are feasting on.
It’s been in the 80’s here in Seattle and I’ve spent a few days at Greenlake making the most of this Vitamin D. I also chose to wake up at 4am the other day and run a few miles before work, which jumpstarted my day to be very positive. I think I’m going to start trying to fit yoga into my morning regimen before work. I work so early that sometimes it is near impossible to roll out of bed. But life is about setting goals, and these are all small goals that are easy to accomplish and make you feel good when you complete them….baby steps:)
Today I did weights and a zumba class. This was good and tomorrow will be better, I just know it. I will be going to my favorite zumba instructor, Danielle and also going to my favorite yoga class later tomorrow night. I need to keep staying motivated and working towards staying healthy.
One positive to this week was getting my ACE Personal Training study bundle in the mail! Yay I have been putting in 1-2hr timeframes daily for studying but hopefully I can fit more time in soon. I am at least working on my goal towards becoming a personal trainer, and better yet, a Pilates instructor hopefully in time.
Remember that everything we do daily, creates who we become on the inside and out. From the food we eat, the people we surround ourselves with, the exercise, the environment we live in…All these things should make you feel happy and if they don’t then reconstruct your surroundings. You must feel better after a tough workout. You must feel as though you accomplished something. If the gym isn’t for you, take it outside. If that run hurts your knees, try yoga or Pilates or even swimming. If those friends bring you down, find new ones or embrace the ones that make you happy. Life isn’t supposed to be hard unless we make it that way. Your waste-line shows a lot about how you treat yourself. It’s not about looking attractive; it’s about taking care of yourself.
Sometimes you need to sit and meditate. Sometimes you need to ask your higher power what it is that you need.
If something doesn’t feel right, it’s probably because it isn’t. Sometimes when you’re not feeling well, it may not have anything to do with the amount of exercise you’re getting but it might be diet-related in which you’re feeding your body the wrong foods. It may be that you’re not getting enough sleep; it may be that you aren’t properly handling the stress in your life. Either way you must always move forward. Get to the core and embrace everything you can to be happy.
- EAT CLEAN.
- EXERCISE.
- EMBRACE YOUR HIGHER POWER.
- TRULY LOVE THE PEOPLE IN YOUR LIFE.
- MEDITATE.
- APPRECIATE and show GRATITUDE.
- SLEEP.

Hey, I know you’ll get back on track, so don’t worry!
Everybody falls off the fitness “bandwagon” sometimes, but the trick is to pull yourself back up and try to be better than you were before!

Hi, I’m from seattle too and stumbled upon your blog a few weeks ago. I love it and this post took the words right out of my mouth. I’ve been struggling with how to talk about the rut so i’m so happy you did. I couldnt have said it better myself. It’s about finding balance and staying healthy. For me, I notice I always do better when I stick to a routine. Mornings are better for me to work out and yoga is better after work, its when I decide I’m going to sleep a little longer and work out after work that I get all screwed up. Stay positive and know that you are inspiring others. I plan on following your tips and getting myself out of the run and back on track this weekend!

I read this and then read your more recent entries. It’s good to see you catch the fire for something new and rocket out of that rut.
Even in the ruts, though, I think your blog helps a lot of people.
Good stuff. Keep it up.
