The quote above, along with long talks with my yoga instructor Tiffany, combined with Bryan Kest’s motivational speech during his master class this past week have all brought me to where I stand right now.
I didn’t think it was possible to feel this strong, but I was wrong…I feel amazing. I feel so at peace with the past it’s not even funny. Did you know that 85% of the things we think about, we think about EVERY SINGLE DAY!?!?!? As Bryan said, that means that 85% of the things we think about is complete shit.
Sorry for my language but I have a better perspective now, and I wanted to share. I realize now that our thoughts overtake our reality. We lose life, by dwelling on the past, anticipating the future, and worrying, thinking, just all too much about things that may never happen, or things that have already happened.
- Yoga teaches me to silence my thoughts.
- Yoga teaches me to focus on the present; the mind is our biggest enemy sometimes
- Yoga teaches me that no matter how many times I make a mistake, I have the ability to change everything by heading to my mat.
- Yoga teaches me to be happy alone.
- Yoga teaches me that being present in the moment=PEACE.
Everything I just said can be used for fitness, life, relationships, and basically everything else in life. It’s so important to realize that life is perfect as it is…Life doesn’t need to be perfected or complicated. We are all just practicing. Every single day we practice to be the best we can be. Sometimes the most freeing thing to do is LET GO. Start anew.
Let go of the baggage that chains us to our old habits. You don’t need a scale, you don’t need a mirror. You don’t need anything or anyone to complete you. You just need your heart. Keep faith that everything you need is within you…and then you can master the ability to change. It takes time, but once you have gone through the ringer………ENLIGHTENMENT happens.
Enlightenment happens at a period in life, where you have two choices. Change, or remain the same.
